# Synthetic population

Synthetic population draws a sample of people for one measurement from Atlas, using country, gender, age, and percentile. A census sample follows the packed age and sex structure for that country.

Each point is one sampled person.

## Outcomes

| Mark | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| Pass | Inside the minimum and maximum |
| Tight | Still inside, but near an edge |
| Fail | Outside the limits |

Accommodation is the share who pass. Tight does not count toward the target.

Scrubbing the minimum and maximum recolors the same people. Changing who is sampled draws a new set.

Synthetic population is part of [Humanform Pro](https://docs.humanform.app/pro). The command-line `population` command reports how many sampled people fall between a minimum and a maximum.
