# MCP

MCP is how an agent app calls Humanform on your Mac. The server is a local stdio process. Humanform still calculates millimetres on that Mac. The chat app may send tool results to its own cloud. Humanform does not.

On a Mac, open **Settings → MCP**. That screen can install the server in Cursor, copy a config snippet for Claude Desktop, and copy a Claude Code command. The command is the `humanform-cli` binary inside the app, with the argument `mcp`.

```
humanform-cli mcp
```

A config for other agent apps uses the same binary. Settings copies the real path on your Mac. The shape is:

```
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "humanform": {
      "type": "stdio",
      "command": "/path/to/Humanform.app/Contents/MacOS/humanform-cli",
      "args": ["mcp"]
    }
  }
}
```

## Tools

| Tool | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `measurements` | Search the catalog. Returns catalog ids, display names, body group, and whether the measurement is included without Pro. It does not return millimetres. |
| `packs` | List presets and the catalog ids in each. |
| `predict` | Predict one measurement. Returns millimetres from the on-device grids. |
| `fit` | Share of an age or age band that meets every limit. Requires Humanform Pro. |
| `population` | Census-weighted sample for one measurement between a minimum and maximum in millimetres. Requires Humanform Pro. |
| `accommodate` | Solve limits for a preset or a measurement list so a target percent of people fit. Requires Humanform Pro. |

`predict` needs a measurement. Country, gender, age, percentile, and unit are optional. Age is 1 through 88. Percentile is 1 through 99. Unit is `mm`, `cm`, or `in`. Omit country to use the app preference.

`fit` takes a list of constraints. Each constraint names a measurement and may set a lower and upper bound in millimetres.

`accommodate` presets are `workstation`, `standingReach`, `cockpit`, and `apparel`. Target fit percent defaults to 90. Presets are not standards certificates.

There is also a `seated-workstation` prompt that solves the seated workstation preset for an age band.

See [Command line](https://docs.humanform.app/cli) for the same commands in Terminal, [Measurements](https://docs.humanform.app/measurements) for names, and [Countries](https://docs.humanform.app/countries) for codes.
