# Medical

Use Humanform when a product or a study needs the size of a head, a face, or a hand in a population. Helmets, masks, handles, and instrument grips are typical uses. The number is a population estimate for the country, gender, age, and percentile you set.

> Humanform does not measure a patient, diagnose a condition, or replace a clinical instrument.

## Notable measurements

| Measurement | Catalog id | Typical use |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Head length | `HeadLength` | Headform depth |
| Head breadth | `HeadBreadth` | Headform width |
| Head girth | `HeadGirth` | Circumference of the head |
| Face breadth | `FaceBreadth` | Mask or visor width |
| Palm length | `PalmLength` | Grip and handle size |
| Hand length | `HandLength` | Glove and tool length |
| Index finger length | `IndexFingerLength` | Trigger and control reach |
| Grip width | `GripWidth` | Handle span |
| Upper limb length | `UpperLimbLength` | Reach to a control from the shoulder |

Finer finger lengths and widths are in the [measurement catalog](https://docs.humanform.app/measurements), in the Hand group.

## Command line

```
humanform-cli predict HeadGirth --country UK --gender everyone --age-min 18 --age-max 80 --percentile 50
humanform-cli predict HeadBreadth --country UK --gender everyone --age-min 18 --age-max 80 --percentile 95
humanform-cli measurements --query head
```

There is no medical preset. Pass the catalog ids you need. This requires Humanform Pro.

```
humanform-cli accommodate \
  --measurement HeadLength \
  --measurement HeadBreadth \
  --measurement HeadGirth \
  --country UK --gender everyone --age-min 18 --age-max 80 --target 90
```

## MCP

```
Use Humanform for a head-worn product for adults in the United Kingdom, ages 18 to 80, gender everyone. Search measurements with query "head". Accommodate HeadLength, HeadBreadth, and HeadGirth at target 90. Also predict FaceBreadth at the 5th and 95th percentiles. Say these are population estimates. Humanform does not measure a patient or replace a clinical instrument.
